Moon Hall School
Moon Hall College

So much has happened since Moon Hall School opened in September 1985. It began with just two pupils – initially taught at the kitchen table in a house called “Moon Hall”!

Now we have two separate sites – both in Surrey:

Moon Hall School

Established in 1985, this is a specialist school for dyslexic children aged 7 to 12.  It occupies a site within the grounds of Belmont Preparatory School with which it has a close relationship.  Pupils may be able to transfer to Belmont to complete their prep school education or transfer to Moon Hall College. It has recently received an outstanding inspection report by ISI

‘The school is very successful in meeting its aims to develop pupils’ literacy and numeracy skills and their self-esteem. Pupils develop very well as learners who understand increasingly well how they learn and how to improve their learning.’ (Independent Schools Inspection report, December, 2013)

Moon Hall College

In 2005 Burys Court School was acquired and it has been remodelled as Moon Hall College (senior school) and Burys Court School (junior school) to incorporate the Moon Hall ethos and to provide specialist education for dyslexic pupils on this site in a mainstream environment from primary school up to GCSE. The school and college has recently received an excellent inspection report by ISI.

“The quality of the pupils’ overall achievement and learning, including the EYFS, is excellent” say the Inspectors in their report of November 2012 which rates the school as excellent under every heading. - View Report
