MOON HALL SCHOOL - AN EDUCATIONAL CHARITY
Charitable registration no: 803481
(Moon Hall School [a company limited by guarantee]
Registered in England No: 2485159)

Moon Hall School is managed by a Board of Governors who are also trustees of
the charity.

Most of the Governors are former parents or staff and all are committed to the school’s educational
vision.

David Baker (Chairman)

David helped Berry to set up Moon Hall School in 1985 and subsidised it in
its early days.

He was a solicitor in a city firm until his retirement in 2001. He organised the
establishment of the Charity and was actively involved in the move to
Belmont.

He is Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Berry Baker

Berry founded the school in 1985 when she began to teach her son, Daniel,
and Elliott Matthews. After four years in her home she organised the
school’s move to the present building in the grounds of Belmont School.

She resigned as Principal in 1993 in order to accompany David to work in
Tokyo.

She joined the Board of Governors and was appointed Chairman when the
first Chairman, Robert Shanks, retired
.

David Aylward

David is the Headmaster of Parkside School, Cobham. He is also a
Belmont Governor.

He has been a Governor at MHS since 2003 and brings a wealth of
educational experience to the Board.

Justin Broadbent

Currently retired from full time employment since the float of his company,
CSL, Justin has executive directorships and various other
interests.

His leisure interests include horse riding, skiing and veteran vehicles. His
interest in Moon Hall School arose when his son joined us.

His wife, Lotta, is also a keen supporter and is a past Chairman of the
Friends of MHS.

Felicity Reeve

Felicity’s two children both spent several years at the school.

She began as a parent governor and remained on the board when her
children left. Herson is now at university.

Felicity is the Governor representative on the Health and Safety Committee.
She also continues to support the Friends.

Gary Young

Gary is managing director of his own company, The Cast Iron Co Ltd.

His daughter came to Moon Hall School and Gary and his wife, Jane, have
supported the school ever since. They host the Parents’Support Group and
Gary is also on the Finance Committee.

Michael Fanya

Mike has extensive experience in the field of education, having been Chief Examiner for AEB A Levels, a consultant to a number of schools in the UK and abroad and a member of the Surrey University Schools Senate.

He was Senior Master at Hurtwood House School for over twenty years and is now their Director of Admissions.

He has been responsible for the creation of a number of major UK websites by Education Advisers Ltd.

Governors are unpaid volunteers who give unstintingly of their time and effort.
We are extremely grateful to them all.
