Drama

Since September 1998, Moon Hall has adopted a "Literacy Hour" / "Numeracy Hour" format to morning lessons.

Drama is incorporated into English lessons as well as being taught separately, often with a musical component, during at least one afternoon a week.

Additionally, by rota, all MHS classes organise cross-site Assemblies and participate in them.

Aims:

  • Cast Phototo create a well-rounded, confident and socially aware pupil - building inter-personal skills and appropriate behaviour
  • to use Drama as a tool to reinforce cross-curricular topics
  • to encourage pupils to use diverse talents in all aspects of The Theatre. This will include not only acting but set design, lighting, scenery making, publicity etc.
  • to give regular opportunities for children to participate - via Assemblies, School Productions, Christmas and Easter Festivals etc.
