Geography

Our overall aim is to stimulate children's curiosity about the world and to develop a spirit of enquiry.

As well as formalised lessons, we seek to widen pupils' horizons at every opportunity. We have large maps of the world, and of the British Isles, and after each school holiday we focus on places that our children and staff have visited at home and abroad.

Emphasis in Geography is on development of skills - with focus on:

  • geographical vocabulary
  • fieldwork
  • maps and plans
  • globes and atlases
  • graphical techniques
  • secondary sources
  • Information & Communications Technology
